New Book Available !!
CVTU’s new book, More of CVTU's Favorite Flies is now available. A sequel to our popular CVTU's Favorite Flies, this new book follows the same format, but is in full color.
When Fly of the Month was inaugurated in our monthly newsletter, members were challenged. "Do you have a secret weapon that you want to share with your fellow CVTU members? Do you have an invention that the trout just can't resist? Submit your favorite pattern...".
The members responded, and these books are a compilation of over 11 years of Fly of the Month patterns. Some are classics, some are flies adapted from other areas that have been successful here, and some are inventions of the contributors. All are proven patterns that will be worthy additions to your fly box. Books may be purchased at monthly members meetings. The books are 6" x 9", and spiral bound to lay flat on your tying desk. Books are now in stock! To order either or both by mail, click below

Who We Are
We are 600+ volunteers in one of 48 Trout Unlimited Chapters in Pennsylvania. The Commonwealth has over 13,000 TU members interested in the protection of our wild trout resources. We restore streams through habitat improvement projects, conduct seminars on water quality and fisheries management. We work to educate the next generation about the importance of clean water and wild trout. We invite you to join us.
We're more than "just a fishing organization." The work we accomplish is equally important to all those who enjoy outdoor sports or simply the beauty of nature. In fact, clean water is the lifeblood of virtually every creature and plant on earth.
Come join us as we enjoy and protect our local limestone streams. Our waters are recognized by serious trout fishermen around the country and overseas. The Letort is here, as is the Yellow Breeches. We also are blessed with Green Spring and Big Spring.

2016 CVTU Limestoner Banquet Highlights
Many thanks to ALL who attended the 2016 CVTU Limestone Banquet! We had another successful year with our largest fundraising event and we could not do it without the help of all our generous doners, supporters and the many volunteers that worked so hard to pull it all together. We are fortunate to have such a strong family of support for all our programs and events. Thank you so much!
Here are photos from the event and a video of Don Albright receiving the 2016 Limestone Conservation Award.
The next CVTU membership meeting will be on January 18th at the Monroe Township Fire Hall. Our speaker will be Captain Steve Hancock, a Harrisburg area native who grew up fishing in Central PA. His early guiding experience focused on Smallmouth Bass, Carp on fly, Walleye and Musky. He started fishing the Lower Keys and Key West area in 2005 and has been guiding there for the past 6 years. His presentation will begin with an overview of the geography of the Keys, a map of the islands showing points of interest, hotels, restaurants, etc., then move into describing the flats, the species available, proper tackle, lines, leaders, flies and tactics for each species. Finally, he will give a brief description and introduction of the Bonefish Tarpon Trust conservation group: their mission, how to support them and donate, and provide brochures on the organization. If you've ever dreamed about testing your fly fishing skills on saltwater flats, this meeting will give you a great overview of what it's all about. We hope to see you there!!
The Cumberland Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited (CVTU) will again offer a winter fly-tying course, in conjunction with the South Middleton Township Parks & Recreation Department, at the Boiling Springs High School, room 110 starting January 10. The course will run every Tuesday for eight-weeks from 7pm -9pm, and end on/about February 28.

SAVE THE DATE! Annual Limestoner Banquet
March 17, 2017
The Limestoner is our biggest event of the year, and your support is essential to our continued success in all the work we do. The Limestoner is becoming more popular every year, so don’t miss this great night of camaraderie and celebration as we honor those who’ve contributed so much as well as provide for our continued success in our future conservation efforts. While the Chapter’s largest projects benefit from grants; our Trout in the Classroom, work on the Letort, and the Rivers Conservation and Fly Fishing Youth Camp are all funded through the generosity of our members. Let’s make this year’s Limestoner Banquet the most successful fundraising event in the Chapter’s history! Only with your support can CVTU continue to preserve and improve the cold water resources of the Cumberland Valley.
If you'd like to lend a hand in any way to help out, please get in touch with Tom Miller: firstname.lastname@example.org
We hope to see you there!
